Message from the Chair

 Welcome to our website!  

 Dear Friends and Supporters,

Since its formation in 2001, FARRG has gone from strength to strength, thanks to the support of the local community and the dedication of all members of our Committee and our partners.

Throughout our existence, we have sought to work closely with the Pavilion Cafe' and Tennis which runs the tennis courts and the popular Pavilion Café in the Albert Rec and, also, with Haringey Council’s Parks Team which is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of this lovely park.  Our collective efforts in seeking to transform what had once become a neglected green space into a really valued and much used community asset have borne fruit with the award of Green Flag status in each of the last three years, a mark of excellence and a reflection of the major improvements which have now been delivered in the Albert Rec. 

Of course, a recreation ground is meant to be a lot more than just a beautiful green space important though that is. Our emphasis has, therefore, been on organising and supporting a wide range of sporting, outdoor and other community activities intended to make full use of all the facilities available in the AlbertRec.

We see active community involvement in the affairs of the park and enhanced recreational use of its resources as the best measures of our success as a voluntary community group.  We hope that you will take the time to browse through our website which contains a lot of useful information about our work and how you can get involved.
